Maya is a Mother, Doula & Advocate for families and teenagers embarking on the journey of childbirth. Trained as a Certified Interdisciplinary Doula (eCID), she steps into the portal of Birth Work with a singular mission: to guide, support and educate families and teens to achieve healthy birth outcomes and postpartum journeys.
In 2019, Maya trained as a Certified Interdisciplinary Doula (eCID) with Earth’s Natural Touch: Birth Care & Beyond, while attending DONA International approved Birth Doula Workshops: Breastfeeding & Intro to Child Birth presented by Mama Amadoma Bediako. Shortly after, Maya completed an Advanced Doula Training with Mother Health International & Yale’s New Haven Healthy Start to support high risk pregnant mothers and families in New Haven county. In 2022, she became an Advocacy Team Member of Doulas 4CT as she builds relationships with members of the Bridgeport community with a similar vision & mission.
Maya is passionate about supporting women & teens through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and breastfeeding. She has supported a number of high risk hospital births virtually and in-person and has experience in facilitating Childbirth Education Classes for families privately and collectively with Doulas4CT advocacy team members . Maya holds a special place for supporting women and families at home births and birth centers.
